Arts Gowanus is hosting its annual Gowanus Open Studios (GOS) event in October, the weekend of 10/18-10/19, 2025, visitors to explore private artist studios, meet local artists, and view/purchase art in the Gowanus neighborhood of Brooklyn. The event is a major celebration of local art, featuring hundreds of artists and providing a unique look into the vibrant arts community there. In addition to the main event, Arts Gowanus is also involved in developing subsidized artist studios and a Fellowship Program for low-income artists, which began in spring 2025.
What is Gowanus Open Studios?
An annual, free weekend event that happens in October.
Artists in the Gowanus neighborhood and surrounding areas open their studios for the public to visit.
Visitors can see art, learn about art-making processes, and purchase work directly from artists.
It provides an intimate look into the local arts scene and helps rally the community around its artists.
What to expect at GOS 2025:
Hundreds of artists will open their doors to the public.
Access to private studios in former factories, warehouses, and other studio buildings.
Opportunities to engage with artists and discuss their work and processes.
A digital map and artist directory will be available on the Arts Gowanus website
Each day GOS 2025 will be taking place from noon to 6pm! Over 300 artists will be opening their personal studio doors to the public!
Hi Friends!
My studio will be open BOTH days! Please save the dates and come through and say hello! My studio is located across from the Arts Gowanus headquarters, in the building at 540 President Street, in the basement, within The Brooklyn Art Cluster Studios (one of the art collectives I am an active and proud member of!)
